Frequently Asked Questions

Operations

How do I stage the room?

Remove all soft items from the area including bedding, pillows, and clothing. Open all drawers and interior doors. Place UVC device at least 24 inches from all objects.

How fast of a room turn around is needed?

Treatment cycle time depends on the characteristics of the room, the pathogen you're going after, as well as the positioning of the device in the room. All play important factors in your run time.

How do I speed up the room turn around time?

Surgical suites can be UVC treated with multiple wall mounted units. Depending on room size and shape, four units can be operating so UVC dosage is from all sides.

How do you track usage?

UVC Cleaning Systems uses a manual method to track when, where, and by whom the UVC treatment was ran. A treatment tracking tablet is provided with each unit. One of the design goals was to eliminate complicated electronic systems that link to the internet or the facilities network. Treatments are also tracked on an SD card key inside the device. This information is encrypted and can only be obtained when the SD card is synced to UVC Cleaning Systems through the internet or manual method.

How do you know how many treatments have been performed over a given time period.

The treatments are tracked on the SD card. The customer will need to sync the SD card with UVC Cleaning Systems over the internet or with a manual method.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my usage plan?

UVC Cleaning Systems offers their customer the ability to change their usage plan. This means that if you have a 30 treatment per month plan you can upgrade to the 60 treatment or unlimited treatment plan without penalty. Likewise you can also downgrade your use plan if equipment utilization is below your expectations. When changing use plans a new lease term is established, however the term cannot be less than the current term of the lease.

UVC Cleaning Systems also pays for all shipping related warranty service. The customer will be invoiced for shipping cost of damaged equipment caused by the customer. Maintenance

What is the life expectancy of the UVC emitters?

The manufacturers of the emitters list the life at 12,000 hours but that is assumed to be continuous use. The number of on/off cycles will reduce the effectiveness of the emitter and shorten its life. UVC Cleaning Systems measures the efficiency of the emitters at the 254nm wave length during the treatment cycle. When the UVC energy drops below a given threshold the unit alerts the operator that service is required.

How do you identify what is wrong when the “Service Required” is indicated?

There three small LEDs (red, yellow, and green) on the UVC Cleaning Systems equipment that display the error code for each service incident. The legend for these LEDs is explained in the owners manual for each device. When contacting UVC Cleaning Systems for service, the customer will be asked to identify the color combination of the LEDs.
